Thing 15 - Collaborate Online

Today’s websites and tools make it easier than ever to collaborate with other learners and educators near and far. The challenging part is finding the right project and tools that align with a piece of your curriculum and then carving out the time to actually implement the project with your students.

One unique aspect about online collaboration is that students and educators in another locale will depending upon you and your students to implement your part of the project. Also, some projects have specific sign-up, start, and end dates or require live communication at a specifc time.

To complete Thing 15 you must:
A. View a video showing how one school participated in a global project.
B. Read about the Flat Classroom Project. Be sure to click on the "New Teacher Guide" for more information on how someone might get started with this collaborative project, and explore other links on the site.
C. Explore a wiki which provides links to collaborative projects or opportunities.

D. Explore one of the online tools listed below and think how you might use this for a collaborative project among students.

E. On your blog, review and reflect on one collaborative project or opportunity or web tool that aligns with part of your curriculum.
