Welcome to Lenawee ISD's Surf to Learn: "23 Things for Web 2.0 Exploration." We are excited to have you join us on this self-paced learning adventure!

And a special welcome to Adrian College teacher education students! We hope the reflective journey through 23 Things will be valuable to you. Please direct your emails to your AC instructor during the semester rather than sending them to the LISD edtech email. For Winter, 2012, we are hoping students will share your blog address with us so teachers in the classroom and prospective teachers can comment on each others' blogs and share ideas. We will look forward to hearing about your progress during this collaboration. njoy the journey!

"23 Things" is a self-paced, online professional development opportunity that encourages educators to take control of their own learning through exploration and play. Over a period of ten weeks, participants will complete 23 Things, self-guided online discovery tasks, and become familiar with a variety of Web 2.0 tools. These are the new tools of the Internet. You will learn about blogs, podcasts, wikis, RSS, photo sharing and much more. These tools allow people to connect with the entire world through media sharing, social networking, and collaborative work. There is no face-to-face session during this online project. The average task should take anywhere from 30 minutes to two hours to complete. Using the links on the right, be sure to read the FAQs and Tips for Success. Then, when you're ready, begin working through the list of 23 Things (go in order). LISD consultants will be monitoring your progress and encouraging you on your journey by posting comments on the blog that you will create. Remember, help is just an email away at 23things@lisd.us.
